Who we are

Against The Odds is a free, social football prediction game. This document explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Sign-in details: your email address, display name and the identity of your sign-in provider (Google or Apple). We never see or store your password.
• Your country, used only in the anonymous statistics described below.
• The time of your last sign-in.
• Your predictions, the points you have earned, and the leagues you created or joined.
• How you joined a league — through an invite link, a typed code or a pasted one — and which share button the link came from.
• If you report another player's name: which name you reported and when. Only we see it; the player is never told who reported them. The report reaches us by email, with the reported name and that player’s account code. Deleting your account removes your name from your reports.
• Messages you send us from the app. Each one reaches our inbox by email, together with your account code, display name and email address, so that we can reply.
• Technical details of each request the app makes to our servers, including your IP address. We use them to run the service and to protect it — for example, to limit how many requests one address can make.
• A check by Apple or Google that a request comes from our real app on a real device (App Check). It confirms the app, not who you are.
• Crash reports and technical diagnostics from the app (device model, operating system version, app version), so we can fix problems.

Why we use it

To run the game: to recognise you, keep your predictions, calculate points, show league tables and fix problems. Anyone who opens the game — signed in or not — can see your display name, club, shirt number, the date you joined, how many tickets you have played and won, your points, and your predictions once their matches have started. These appear on the tables and on your player page. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.

To improve the game we also study how it is played — for example how many players come back each matchday, which invites bring friends in, and whether results arrive on time. For this, records of play are copied to an analysis store in Google Cloud, in the European Union. There your account is replaced by a code that does not say who you are; the store holds no name or email address, and we look only at totals. It is never used for advertising and never sold. There is no tracking inside the app for this. When you delete your account, your records leave the analysis store at its next daily update, and the backup copies Google Cloud keeps are erased automatically within about ten days.

Who it is shared with

We use Google services (Firebase and Google Cloud) for authentication, crash reports, infrastructure and the analysis described above, Supabase to host the database, and Resend to deliver the emails described above (your messages and name reports) to our inbox. Sign-in happens with Google or Apple, as you choose. These providers process the information on our behalf only. We do not share personal information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Your account, predictions, points and leagues: until you delete your account.
• Server request records, including IP addresses: 30 days.
• Crash reports: 90 days.
• Emails with your messages or name reports: as long as we need them to reply or to deal with the report. Ask us and we will delete them.

What is kept on your device

We keep your sign-in state, a prediction ticket you have not sent yet, and preferences such as language on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Your rights

You can ask to see or correct your information — contact us and we will handle it. You can delete your account and everything linked to it yourself, inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; the full details are on the “Delete your account” page. Deletion does not reach emails already in our inbox — your messages to us and reports about your name. Write to us and we will delete those too.

Children

The service is for adults aged 18 and over. Where the law requires it (for example in some US states), the app asks your App Store or Google Play account, when you sign in, whether you are 18 or over. The answer stays on your device: it decides only whether you can sign in, and we never store it or send it to our servers. If we learn that we have collected information from anyone under 18, we will delete it.

Changes to this document

If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of the page. A material change will be brought to your attention inside the app.
